Are you fed up with yo-yo dieting? Do you lose weight quickly and then regain it just as fast once the diet is finished? Is your head full of ‘should’ and ‘should nots’ because you’re confused by all the different dieting messages out there? You’re not alone. We start a new diet with hope and anticipation of feeling fitter, healthier and achieving the weight loss we’ve always dreamed of. The first few weeks go well but then you feel tired, lethargic, your weight loss slows, and a friend invites you out for coffee or dinner. What do you do? Cake is carbs and they’re forbidden on your diet! You have it anyway but then the guilt kicks in. Thoughts of ‘I’ve blown it’, ‘I’m a failure’, I’ll never lose weight’ run through your head. Dieting is hard. We often over restrict, have unrealistic expectations and set ourselves up to fail from the start. You may also have a health condition which means the ‘one size fits all’ approach just doesn’t work for you.
This is where I come in!
I’ll work with you over 6 appointments, I’ll listen to you and gather information not only on your current food choices and eating habits but your symptoms, your medical history, lifestyle and daily routines which all influence the decisions we make. Coupled with this, and where appropriate, we will explore your thoughts and feelings surrounding your food choices and lifestyle decisions. I don’t set everyone up on the same plan, I have a toolkit of strategies, both for practical food suggestions and to help you build that better relationship with food now and for the future. I’ll help you to understand your emotional reactions and links to food so that you can break that cycle for good! This is tailored and truly bespoke to you. We’ll find room for that piece of cake and a glass of wine.
Breaking old habits and laying down new ones takes time and practice. We need to have realistic expectations of ourselves to succeed. Therefore, throughout your 6 appointments I will guide you through the process of setting achievable goals, which will support the development of new habits so that you can make the long term changes you desire.
What do you get?
Tailored one-to-one support over 6 appointments with one in depth assessment session plus 5 further sessions where you can ask questions, review progress and have accountability if you need it.
How does it work?
We’ll start with a 20-minute free discovery call following which I’ll send you some pre-appointment forms.
We’ll have our 75-minute Initial consultation where we’ll work out the best approach for you and formulate an action plan for our remaining 5 appointments. You will finish your first appointment with some achievable goals to get started with. A personalised summary report of our discussion and any supporting resources will follow.
You will then receive five 45-minute appointments where we’ll build on our discussions and I will provide support, motivation and top tips. For best results, appointments are ideally spaced every 2-3 weeks so that we can address any issues as they arise. Email support is provided in between appointments and appointments should be used within 6 months of purchase.
